Over the years, the Asian Civilisations Museum has made its mark as a cultural institution, tourist attraction and a unique and beautiful venue for all special occasions. The Asian Civilisations Museum (ACM) is being developed in two phases. The first wing at Tao Nan opened in 1997 and in 2003, the ACM opened its second wing & flagship wing at Empress Place Building.

In order to avoid confusion over the identity of the two buildings, the decision was made to turn ACM Armenian Street into a dedicated Peranakan Museum. We closed down the building at the end of 2005 for a major renovation and retrofit. The re-opening of the new Peranakan Museum with the adjacent shophouses is scheduled for late April 2008.

Peranakan Museum is a boutique museum convieniently located in the central business district with ready access to parking facilities and public transport. Just a 5 minutes walk away from the Singapore Management University, Cityhall & Dhoby Ghaut MRT stations, the facilities at our Peranakan Museum offer you an elegant and unique setting for your meeting seminars, cocktail receptions, product launches, memorable weddings and parties.

At our venue, your guests can also view one of the best collections of Peranakan artefacts in the world, and the first comprehensive display of Peranakan culture anywhere in the world. The new Peranakan Museum will be an exciting destination for local and foreign visitors alike.

Ixora Room

Named after the vibrant tropical flower, the Ixora Room adds a touch of effervescence to corporate venues. Versatile enough to host a whole range of corporate events, from cocktail receptions to meetings to product launches – the Ixora Room has a motorised screen and high lumens projector to ease your technical worries.

For your seminar and meeting needs, the Lecture Room fills all the requirements of function with the added bonus of being a stunning space. Recommended for boardroom or theatre set-ups, the Lecture Room can also be used for film screenings.
